Little things lead to big things — My Dad

Examples of  little things you can control:

  • What you stand for
  • your study/research habits
  • your work ethic
  • your  motivation
  • How you communicate with people
  • How you treat people
The list goes on.

Doing the little things prepares you for that big moment later on in life!

Hey J! Great advice from your dad. We have to start somewhere. And typically, we start small and work our way up. If we're not willing to take care of the small things...we'll never make the progression.

Wonderful reminder. This is one that's always timely!

Thanks man

"If we’re not willing to take care of the small things…we’ll never make the progression."

Exactly Jk!

You have to be willing to do the things that don't give immediate gratification or immediate success. Do the little things (right) and the rest will follow.

I like the video. It's really cool to see you in action.

Also, after visiting so many blogs today, it was nice to be able to just sit and let you talk to me while my brain took it in.

I'm trying more of the little things like you said. It's super important for preparing for the big things.

Bryce

Hey Bryce!

Our brains need a break every now and again so I'm glad I was able to give your's one. Probably will start incorporating more videos in the future.

When I think about doing the little things, I'm brought back to my college days. Everything we did was preparing us for that final test at the end of the semester.

From time to time I fell into the trap of not doing what I needed to do during class to prepare me for that final test (i.e. taking good notes, laser like focus). So If I bombed the test I would sit there and wonder how I did so bad.

Luckily tanking a test never put me in too much jeopardy (thank goodness for the points system).

The point is if I would've done the little things and worked my way up to the final, I would've had a lot easier time with it because I mastered the smaller things (concepts, equations, etc).

Thanks for your 2 cents!

Jeremy, the little things are the ones that matter. And as common as we may think your dad's phrase is, it's something we don't always put into practice. We always have control over how we respond to things. And that can often be the most powerful of all.

Hey there Bryan,

I agree with you 100% that we don't always practice the little things. I believe it's human nature to go for it all, but many forget exactly what it takes to actually get to that holy grail moment.

The little things do matter and it's those little things that will inch you closer to your ultimate goal.

Appreciate your 2 cents Bryan!
