Entrepreneurial Mindset Ingredients: The Recipe For Success
An article posted by Jeremy
The biggest ingredient in a successful entrepreneur, or successful person for that matter, is the mindset.
If the mindset isn’t on point, there’s no success…period.
That’s why it’s so vital to have the proper ingredients that go into creating a successful entrepreneurial mindset.
It starts with motivation
Without motivation all progress halts. Motivation is the fuel that keeps the mindset moving in a positive direction.
Think of motivation as the kindling used to get a fire started. Without it, the task of making a fire is much more difficult.
Motivation is what keeps successful people
- constantly learning
- progressing
- overcoming obstacles
- and flat out succeeding
Have you ever started a project and lacked the motivation to see it through? It’s hard to get anything done that way right?
Motivation carries you during those tough times where your body just doesn’t want to carry one.
The times when you just don’t feel like getting out of bed for example.
Sprinkle in some inspiration
Inspiration can come from anywhere and everywhere. You might be inspired by:
- Your family
- Steve Jobs
- a product
- or a global issue
The point is, inspiration is what draws out those creative juices that flow in your head. Many of the great things in life are created by inspired people.
Find what inspires you and hold it close.
Stir in some determination
How was Steve Jobs able to bounce back when he got fired from Apple? Determination
How was Martin Luther King Jr. able to stand up and preach even when his life was threatened? Determination
How will you get to where you want to be? Determination
Without determination, there’ll be holes in your mindset.
It’s only when all the ingredients work as one that you’ll be able to unleash your inner beast also know as potential.
Unleash your beast
When all these ingredients fire in unison there is absolutely nothing and no one that can stop you.
So let’s recap:
- Find your motivation. If you ask 5 people what motivates them you’ll get 5 different answers. Find that one thing that motivates you to be the best and allow it to work for you.
- Inspired people do great things. Inspiration lasts for a limited time. The trick is to turn your inspiration into your motivation.
- Be determined. Don’t take no for an answer. Get knocked down, get back up.
Discussion
Now that we’ve discusses the ingredients that go into the entrepreneurial mindset, I’m curious to know where your mindset lies.
Do you find that you need to improve in any of the ingredients? If so, what actions are you taking to improve?

Hey J. You better believe that I need to improve. There WILL NEVER BE A TIME IN MY LIFE that I don't need to improve. So each of these are areas that I work on constantly. I do so by making self assessments and applying the daily lessons I learn from life...and the other lessons I learn from others. Without assessing my improves, I can't accurately map where I need to focus next...so the assessments are crucial to one that's on a personal development journey...and entrepreneur.
PEACE
Hey JK,
I'm glad you said "There WILL NEVER BE A TIME IN MY LIFE that I don’t need to improve" because there will never be a time where anyone will have it all figured out. It's a constant learning process (life) and once you think you do know everything, that's when you fail.
Appreciate your 2 cents JK!
Awesome post, Jeremy!
You're so right about each ingredient that lies in the recipe to our success. We should definitely always fine tune each ingredient and never allow it to be enough than what we currently possess. In order to be successful, we must continue doing these steps and making them better each time that we do them. I find that inspiration is the most important for me. Once I get truly inspired the rest of these usually fall in line. If I have no inspiration, then I usually don't turn out a satisfactory product. Now, that's not to say that it's not good, but rather it's not my best. I'm one of those that strive to make it my best; each and every time that I set out to do something. This really touched home for me, and I really enjoyed the read, my friend. I'll definitely be sharing and rereading this one. Good stuff!
Hey Dee,
Glad you enjoyed the post. I have a question for you. At any point, has motivation or determination sparked your inspiration? I know you said inspiration usually starts first for you and afterwards the rest of the pieces fall into place, but I'm curious if the other two factors have ever played a key role in unleashing inspiration.
Well, I guess you can say that it has actually. This journey of blogging has been built upon motivation and determination. Motivation in the sense that I wanted to prove to myself that I was capable of doing the impossible in my mind; which takes me daily to motivate myself to do. I'm certainly not always up for it. It takes me kicking myself in gear.
Also determination, to prove my naysayers wrong. I know there are a lot of people in my close immediate circle and a few cyber peeps as well, that think that I'm not going to be at this for long. That I'll get burnt out and give up. My determination kicks into gear every morning I think of these individuals. It literally kicks me into gear and allows me to do what I know I need to do.
So yes, your absolutely right, they have both played an incredible key role in me achieving my success. I couldn't have reached the point where I am in life without have an equal dose of each ingredient.
Add me to your circle
