Refuse Mediocrity

refuse mediocrity Refuse Mediocrity

In life it’s easy to give in to a life of mediocrity. If you don’t have the athletic talent or the movie star aurora, it’s easy to fall into the trap of settling for mediocrity.

Mediocrity will be defined differently by all people, but for me mediocrity is:

  • ultimately settling for what society says you have to settle for and being OK with it.

If you want to start a business, but you’re not going to pursue it because society says you don’t have the skill set or you’re not from an Ivy league school

  • You’re being mediocre.

If you want something different out of life and you refuse to settle for mediocrity, it’s time to take action and stop listening to society.

It’s time to take those aspirations and goals you’ve avoided for so long and bring them center stage.

Refuse mediocrity.

Discussion

Since it’s defined differently by all people, what does being mediocre mean to you?

Hi Jeremy,

Being mediocre to me means doing only what needs to get done. Letting that extra 10% of effort stop you from reaching your ultimate potential.

Great question.

Bryce

Bingo Bryce,

That extra 10% is so important yet I see people let it slide all the time and then they sit there sour at the world because life didn't follow their exact blueprint.

Life rarely follows a blueprint, so it's important to take advantage of that extra 10% of effort now to help along the way.

Appreciate your input Bryce.

I think you had an excellent breakdown of what mediocrity.

To me, it means just accepting the cards that you're dealt. Taking what's in front of you and not going for anything else. It's being average and settling. It's being okay with not meeting your potential.

Essentially, my definition is the same as yours!

I've really been enjoying following your blog over the past 2-3 weeks. I love your style and format...short and to the point - but aLways a strong point!

JK I truly appreciate your words!

I've already began having them and I'm only 24!

Your conversations with Rob White are dynamite. I've seriously learned a ton from reading both parts. Hope there's a part 3!
